Blush Babe Tribe | Kerri | Rhode Island Boudoir Photographer

It’s late.  I just finished up editing a wedding.  Finally crawled into bed with Shiloh and yet still working.  As an entrepreneur, you truly have to love what you do because the work never seems to end.  I can honestly say, I love what I do.  I get to spend one of the most important days of my clients lives with them!  I get to celebrate with their closest friends and family.  They trust me to capture their love to share with their generations to come.

My boudoir business is my entire heart. I was put on this earth to connect with women.  Whether it be through social media or photographing with me. I love empowering women to live their best life!  It brings me joy to watch my clients entire journey to self confidence. From going back and forth about actually booking a session to sharing those photos online because they are so damn proud of themselves. I love what I do. I also love sharing stories about women who are inspiring. Today, I’m sharing a bit about Blush Babe Kerri!

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself:

My name is Kerri and i think somewhere hidden in my name is queen of multi tasking. I’m part Tom boy with a dash of sexiness and i love both sides of myself. I work part time as an optician, in school full time as a nursing student and I try to fit my fitness life in at least five days a week.

2. What is a typical day like for you?

A typical day whoa. So I’m up early in the morning for either school or clinical. And from there I run over to get a workout in all the while eating or drinking some sort of food in my car. Then I might either shower and go over to work or head home to hit the books. So basically my life right now is school, gym, work, study and repeat. If I have some down time I’m definitely running off for a cheat meal with my fiancé or trying to plan our wedding for next year. So my weeks are pretty stressful, but I get it done and in the end it will be worth it.

3. On hard days, what motivates you to get up and start your day?

On hard days I usually can self motivate myself. I think to myself there are so many people busier than me or having a harder time than me so let’s get to it. But also My fiancé motivates me a lot whether it’s with school or the gym because he believes in me. He always tells me I’m smart and I can do it and is my biggest supporter. So on days where I don’t even feel pretty he reminds me I’m beautiful.

4. Who inspires you to live your best life?

There’s so many things that inspire me to live my best life. I would have to say my dad has made me the person I am today, he is such a simple man but is probably also the smartest person I know. He taught me such great core values and it has made me appreciate the simplicity of things instead of daydreaming that I’m rich and famous. He taught me hard work and morals are important not just for success in life but in terms of feeling fulfilled as a person. Living your best life can mean so many different things, to some it could be vacations every year or getting that dream job or making time to see your family more…finding that positivity in everyday is what makes me happy.

5. If you could go back and tell your 13 year old self something….what would that be?

Wow if I could go back and tell my 13 year old self a few things it would be… continue to be this confident badass that you are because it will help you through many rough moments. Secondly stop listening to your brother when he calls you fat because you are not fat. Lastly do not let the negativity of others ruin your day, your beliefs or your dreams. Oh and don’t walk with your head down… don’t be insecure in some moments and confident in others. You are so many amazing things so please stop thinking you aren’t.

6. What is your favorite quote?

Psalm 27 I have tattooed on my back. The Lord is my light and my salvation of whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

7. You are inspiring women to get out there and love themselves, what piece of advice would you give them?

I overheard two young girls talking in the gym about how if they only had a smaller waist like someone else and how they just needed a little more squatting and their booty would be as big as so and so. They were not trash talking more like comparing themselves. When I was done I said the same thing to them that I tell myself from time to time. I said I’m sorry I overheard your conversation and they laughed. I said you girls are absolutely gorgeous and I see you working out hard! Don’t compare yourself to anyone or any photo because we are all different and have different genetics. You both look great and you need to remember that. I said as women we tend to compare ourselves and put ourselves down in the process. I simply said don’t try to look like anyone else because chances are there are girls here trying to look as good as you both!
Be who you are and don’t apologize. We unfortunately live in a judgemental world but hey maybe we can start changing people’s outlook one person at a time!
